These are the best chicken wings I've ever had

I don’t like chicken wings and these are the best chicken wings I’ve ever had. The dry rub is really the only way to go and either their homemade ranch or homemade blue cheese is perfect for dipping. The tots with the dry rub is the perfect appetizer with either the Mac and cheese bites or the fried mushrooms as a close second. The best part of the mushrooms is that they’re slices of portabella versus entire button mushrooms that burn your face with their juices when you bite into them. We try to go a few times a year, whenever we are in the area.

This place has definitely earned its high ranking! One of the best hidden gems in Madison. The cheese curds are some of the best in town. Waffle fries are a must! I am not a huge bone in wings or blue cheese person but both are must tries when visiting. Don’t let the dive bar interior deter you! You do have to go up to the bar and order everything but they seem to have a good system down for getting orders out efficiently!

Still as excellent as they were the first time I tried them. Seriously. Excellent. My wife does not like hot or Buffalo sauce so she’ll get a light dry rub only and they too are tasty. But for the daring. It can get beautifully hot AND flavorful. I get original with a “sexy times 2” dry rub and pub chips dusted the same. Out frickin standing.
Today I picked up a carry out and the folks in the kitchen apparently decided to have a little fun with me.
Awesome. Best of the Midwest.

Went to Chicken Licks on Saturday (06/24/23) after a baseball tournament.
The family who recommended Chicken Licks had nothing but praise for this establishment. They raved how great the chicken was. I must admit I was a tad bit skeptical, but after taking a few bites of my BBQ wings I was in heaven!
Everybody in my party loved their wings or the chicken tenders they ordered.
Food and service were equally amazing!
I wish I remembered to take a pic of the meal but next time.
Anytime I am in the Sun Prairie area I am eating at Chicken Licks!
